Network
Installation
After the decision is made
to create a network, one of the
next steps is to physically
assemble the devices. The
two primary options are wired
and wireless networks.
Each has it's benefits, but in
most cases, the wired network is
the best choice.
Wired vs. Wireless
In a wired environment, access
to your network is through a
series of cables installed
inside your office walls.
Wireless networks skip most of
the wiring but have limited
range, are considered slow, and
are susceptible to interference.
Wireless routers use the 2.6ghz
range, the same as many cordless
phones. |
 |
This chart lists the
pros and cons of each network
installation type. For most
businesses, the clear winner is still a
wired network.
