Local Area
Networks (LAN)
A Local Area Network (commonly
called a LAN) is a group of
computers (often including a
server) that reside in a single
common area such as an office.
These devices share a single
communications line or wireless
link.
Multiple LANs connected across
short or long distances are
called Wide Area Networks (WAN).
Before any WAN is constructed,
the most fundamental elements of
a network are created as a LAN. |

Do you have a
single location that needs "networked"?
A Local Area Connection is just what you
need to enable your PCs and users to
communicate. Share files and
folders, send email internally, share
printers and centralize your documents.
A carefully designed LAN is almost a
trouble-free environment.

A small Local Area Network
Securing your data and files
A properly designed and secured LAN will
provide protection for your customer's
data, your proprietary designs, and your
business communications. A Windows
Server (version 2008) will provide
centralized username and password
security for your network. Access
permissions to PCs, folders, and files
are managed through the Windows Server
2008 controls.
